About

Japan has been my home for the past 9 years and what was supposed to be a two-year experience has kept extending, and I don't know when it will end. But what I do know is that I found my purpose helping other foreigners thrive while living in Japan.

Sakurenpon is more than a blog - it's a community of foreigners supporting each other and learning together what it means to not just survive but excel in Japan. Thank you for being part of this community.

What you'll find at Sakurenpon

Detailed articles covering everything from before going to Japan, planning, living, and aging in Japan. Plus free downloads, journey lists and life stages in Japan. Also, real experiences whether successful or lessons that need to be taken into account.

At all times, I'll try to have the most updated information from official sources.

My commitment

I will always mention when I've personally experienced something and will include sources. And, as I said before, constant updates because I know rules change. I'll try to respond to all comments and messages to help however I can.

Sakurenpon is a personal and independent blog. I'm not affiliated with any Japanese government agency or company of any kind. The information I share is based on my experience and research from official sources but if there are sponsors or if I receive any commission from any referral, I'll mention it right there.

I always recommend verifying critical information with the corresponding authorities.

Why the name Sakurenpon?

It's no secret that what I enjoy most about Japan are the cherry blossoms, and it's actually a play on words with sakura, ren which can mean connection, and Nippon as the last part of the name Sakurenpon.
